Weddings Resembling the Past

February 7th 2011 23:49
weddings,

Did you ever dream of having a wedding that resembles another place in time? It is easy to create this type of wedding for yourself with nostalgia. You can do this by shopping online or by visiting antique or second hand shops.
It all depends on your taste if you want to create an entire wedding from the past or just a small portion of it. A small portion of it may be just decorating with antique chandelier prisms. To create an image from the past for the entire wedding you may want to have your wedding party dress from an era in time, like Victorian times. Costumes are available for rental for this purpose.

This will take some planning and some research as well. You will need to do research online as well as at the library on the types of clothes (including shoes and hats, stockings) that the era wore to make it realistic.
You may even want to look up traditional customs of the weddings at that time. The food may even be made and served as it was in that particular era. If you chose the Victorian era for your wedding, you would have to choose a specific time era as it changed as time went on as fashion always does.
If you want your music to reflect the theme of your wedding, you will need to do your research on this as well. Whether you hire someone or have a DJ, you can work your theme into this as well.
The décor is most important if you want to create an illusion of a certain era. It can be done professionally or you can do it yourself. You may even be able to rent some of the items you need for décor from some antique shops so you won’t have to buy items you may not need later.

If you decide you want this kind of wedding, hire a good photographer. With all the effort that will be put into such a fantastic wedding, you will want to remember it well in photographs.
