How to Save Money on Your Wedding

It is always a challenge among soon-to-be-wed couples to plan their wedding budget and save up on it. With rising prices amidst us, having the wedding of your dreams seem just that – a dream!
However, there are ways on how to save up and have a wedding that is within your means and still lives up to your wedding dream expectations.
• Instead of getting a qualified florist to do all your floral arrangements, just spend a bit less on buying and arranging the flowers yourself. You could get your family and friends to help you make the bouquets and boutonnieres, decorate the arches, etc.
• Try as much as possible to limit the guests to just family, relatives and close friends. Most caterers and restaurants charge per head, and obviously the more guests you have the more you would pay.
• Do not shoulder all the expenses for your entourage’s dress. You can tell your brides maids and groom’s men that they can give this to you as a gift instead (paying for their gown and tux).
• Shop around from different wedding suppliers before you make a booking and commit. Compare prices first, and if possible you can also ask for package deals with suppliers. Inquire about discounts as well.
• Choose a cheaper alternative to tiered wedding cakes. If you or any one you know have a penchant for baking, why not try to make the cake yourself. Make it sweet and simple.
• Choose a wedding gown that is within your budget. If ready-made wedding gown is your cheaper choice, then go for it. You can even opt to use a family member’s worn gown and simply do some simple alterations to make it your own style.
• Think of a wedding favour that you can do yourself. Not only would it be a more personalized way of saying “Thank you for sharing this special day with us”, but it is also cheap and economical. Your options are also endless if you decide to create something yourself.
• More to personalizing your wedding favors, you can also personalize your wedding invitation and do it yourself. With the aid of computers and colored printers, it is no biggie to make your own invitations anymore. The choice of the right paper and your own design are the important factors. If you can’t do it yourself, I’m pretty sure you can find one who can do it for you. Just tell them that this could be their wedding gift for you.
These are just a few wedding aspects that you can cut your expenses on. There might be a lot more. Just be resourceful and have your mind set on working something out that would give you the best wedding and not hurt your budget.
