The Wedding Party

September 2nd 2009 00:12
When you choose your wedding party you should consider many things. Consider not only who you are close to but who you can depend on. Those who we are close to are not always the ones we can depend on.

It’s better not to put them at the top of the list just because they are family. It doesn’t make you disloyal if you don’t choose your blood relative over your best friend. Your best friend may do the better job. Remember, this is your wedding, not theirs.

Make a list of possible candidates for representing your wedding party. After a day or so, start eliminating the candidates off the list. It’s important to find people who are not only loyal to you but who will help you or even voluntarily help you if and when you need it.

You may have some friends or relatives on that list that you have not been in contact with for a long time. This is not recommended unless you are 100% sure they will not back out.
Forget about feeling guilty that you haven’t included someone who would expect to be asked. This is your wedding and you shouldn’t feel guilty about choosing your own Bridal party.

If you have emotional wrecks on the list of possible candidates then eliminate them immediately, even if they are family members. These types of people may cause so much drama in your wedding, that you will be sorry you asked them. You will not have time to pacify them on your wedding day.

Trust me, find the most genuine friends or family members you can find for your wedding party, who will be honored to be in your wedding and will act like it.
