Saving Money on Wedding Music

December 20th 2009 21:09
If you’re looking to save money somewhere on your wedding, the wedding music may be the area you can save. Although, music and entertainment is an enjoyable part of the reception, paying a lot for the music may not make much of a difference. Let’s face it’s more about the people you’re with then who is actually doing the music. I’ve been to weddings that hire high cost entertainment that was ok and weddings that hire not so expensive DJ’s that were much more fun!

It’s ok to hire an Amateur D.J. You can find these types of talents in high schools and colleges. It’s not hard to find them, just ask around, or call your local schools. Have them do an audition for you.

A relative is not a bad idea as well for doing the music. They also know a lot of people at your wedding which can make it more fun.
Hiring an amateur live band is also a good way to go to save some money. Again, ask for an audition so you can get a feel for how they sound and if you will be happy with them.
As a last resort, and its not really a bad choice as well, have a friend take care of changing a pre-decided set of CD’s. Either have someone make up the songs you choose on CD’s or do it yourself. Have someone who is attending the wedding (who will not let you down) take care of the songs with a small announcement with particular songs, like when the Bride and Groom dance etc.
This is your wedding. You must decide what is most important to you and what is not.
