Pool-Side Wedding: Venue Decoration Ideas

August 10th 2008 05:30
Decorating a wedding venue is fun. For this post, we will be playing with a pool side wedding venue.

Morning to Midday

These décor ideas would work best for morning to midday weddings.

SWIMMING BALLOONS

Fill the pool with blown up balloons of the same color as your motif. Drape streamers from everywhere displaying you and your partner’s initials or first names.

TROPICAL FRUIT BOWL

Imagine an arch, but instead of decorating it with just flowers include some fruits here and there. You can also have a tropical fruit bowl centrepiece on each table (dessert and decoration all in one).

Late Noon to Night

Planning to have your wedding between 4 pm til later, these suggestions might work.

LIT UP POOL

Let the pool help with all the sparkles. Let scented candles float on the pool. Add more romance and let a couple of flowers (stems and leaves excluded) join the candles on the pool.

MONOGRAMMED POOL

Picture your initials lighting up the pool. This is simply making a floating device shaped in the letters of your initials with candles placed along the cut outs. With the lighted candles you would be able to see the outline of your initials floating on the pool.

HARRY POTTER CHANDELIERS

Remember those floating candlesticks on Hogwarts’ dining room? You can create the same effect by hanging light sticks or lanterns strung from different heights. With the pitch black sky as your backdrop, the strings would be invisible from the bare eyes and the lights would look like they’re floating.

The best pool wedding idea - is to have the actual ceremony in a swimming pool: imagine a Minister and a Groom are standing in the water waiting for a bride to jump in....
