Helping a friend with their wedding

The best way you can help someone to plan a wedding is to get organized from the start. Start by going to the book store or library and buying or borrowing books that will give you ideas. Make a list of things you must do and a deadline of when it must be done. A good wedding means a well planned one that is put together with care.
Visit wedding sites on the internet to get an idea of what types of wedding gowns the bride may want and what type of brides maids as well. You may have to educate yourself on the styles of wedding gowns. This should never take the place of actually going and trying dresses on. That is the whole fun of purchasing a wedding gown and you can never be sure how a gown will look on someone by a picture.

You should visit several bakeries with the bride to be before helping her decide on the cake. Getting suggestions from friends of good bakeries in the area would help in starting out. They should be able to give you samples and show a portfolio of pictures of their wedding cake experience.
The wedding band or singer will need to do an audition if you want a good one. The groom may want to be involved in this as well.
The photographer as well should have a good portfolio of wedding pictures as well as a load of references to give you. You should check them out with the better business bureau to see if there are any complaints. Here’s one place you don’t want an amateur if you want good pictures.
The food is most important if you are getting it catered. Ask around to see who has good food and service. Make sure they have experience with weddings.
