A Friend's Wedding: The Invitation

December 1st 2008 05:30
A friend (actually she's my son's godmother) is getting married in nine months...

Both my toddlers are part of the wedding entourage. I can't wait to see them wearing a formal suit (I'm sure they will be very handsome... )

Not to focus too much on my kids, I want to share the type of invitation that they chose and what they decided to include in it.

This is the invitation (in its open state) and the envelope. They sealed the envelope the way kings and queens of olden days do. The seal itself is a nice touch on the invitation.

This invitation was personally picked and ordered by the bride in the Philippines. Pink is their motif, so obviously, a pink ribbon adorn the invitation card and a pink font color is also used for some of the writings within.

Upon opening the card the wedding details are already evident in the first page, which includes the couple's name, the wedding ceremony and reception location and time and the date of the occasion.

There are 3 inserts in the invitation - the first one lists the names of those included in the wedding entourage (like the list of primary and secondary sponsors), the second insert is like a little poem depicting of gift suggestions for the couple and the third insert is the acceptance card (which includes details like the number of seats reserved, RSVP date and the RSVP contact details). In addition, a small coupon is inserted which gives the wedding registry details as created by the couple to help their guests with "gift picking".

Invitation is simple yet elegant looking - not too much embellishments or decorations or too much fancy writings.

Here are other photos of the invite:

I think that this design if really gorgeous! I like the ribbon that goes on the middle of the invitation letter. I had a DVD invitation and I think that I have found a new idea to put into my DVD invitation. I got the DVD invitation idea from <a Really Long Link Screen Invites</a>.
