Decorating the Church

September 3rd 2009 01:33

It doesn’t have to cost you a small fortune to decorate the church for your wedding day. You can make your own decorations and save a ton of cash.

You can put big white bows on the inside of pews and it will look really nice. These bows can be the kind where you pull the string and they instantaneously make a beautiful bow. You can find these in craft stores and party stores. Craft stores will also hand-make these bows in any color you desire.
If there’s an alter at the church, you can string lights or garland along it. This is a nice effect especially at Christmas time. There are some really beautiful strings of garland available at craft stores in spring and fall colors.

For the alter table, you should consider the unity candles. In some ceremonies, couple also take communion as well. This you may or may not want to consider.

It’s always a nice accent for decorating the church to have a few centerpieces for some added color. Two or three centerpieces should be enough. Don’t overdo it with the flowers, the attention should be on the Bride and Groom..
Last of all, your wedding aisle runner should be put in place for the Bride to walk down, after the guests are seated of course. This is more of a tradition than a decoration in the church for your wedding. These can be purchased at a party supply store.
