How to Choose a Photographer

In a wedding, after all the hassles of preparation, the high spirits of the actual event and the honeymoon thereafter only one thing would remind you of the moment – the photographs. Not many couples realize that if there is one thing about the wedding that they should be investing on, it should be the photographer and the photos. Of all the wedding factors, only the photos would stay with you through years and remind you of the moment. Your children and grandchildren would know only of the wedding through the photos.
It is therefore wise to spend a bit more on wedding photo packages and choose a photographer well.
• Choose a photographer that you feel at ease with. It is easy to know a forced or a genuine smile on a printed photo. You would want to be looking like grinding your teeth or giving a half-hearted smile on your wedding photos, would you?
• Make sure that you and your partner build a rapport with the photographer before the wedding day. Some wedding photography business has what they call a pre-nuptial shoot as part of the package. You could perhaps specifically ask that your pre-nup photographer be the actual wedding photographer if you feel at ease working with them. It would make smiling and posing come naturally if you are not shy to do it in front of the photographer. It would also be a breeze to bounce around ideas on how you want the shot to be taken.
• Choose an outgoing photographer. Would you imagine trusting your wedding photos to an uptight photographer who doesn’t even know how to enjoy what he is doing? Perhaps it would be the same saying that one should love and enjoy his work to be good at it.
• Go for an experienced photographer, if you have a choice. Photography is an art that is developed over time. The more experience the photographer have for his craft, the more technique and technicalities in a photo that he can contribute. This would apparently bring out the best in your wedding memento.
These are also among the reasons why it is important to go to different suppliers or photographers before choosing the one who you will commit with.
